نظرا لاستخدام المبيدات الكيميائية ومايصاحب ذلك من تأثير ضار على المناخ والبيئة وعلى صحة الانسان فلقد تمت بعض الدراسات على انتاج مبيدات حيوية آمنه تماما للإنسان والحيوان والنبات والبيئة ومضادة ليرقات البعوض الناقل للعديد من الأمراض. ولقد تم انتاج السم القاتل ليرقات البعوض من بعض الكائنات المعزولة محليا عن طريق تنميتهم على بعض المخلفات الزراعية والصناعية باستخدام تقنيات التكنولوجيا الحيويه. ولقد تمت تنميه هذه الكائنات على هذه المخلفات باستخدام تقنيه التنميه في المنابت الصلبة والتي تتميز بأنها طريقة اقتصادية وسهلة التطبيق مما يساعد على تقليل تكاليف الإنتاج.

Due to the use of chemical pesticides and the accompanying harmful effect on the climate, the environment, and human health, some studies have been conducted on the production of biopesticides active against mosquito larvae that transmit many diseases and are completely safe for humans, animals, plants, and the environment. These mosquitocides have been produced from some locally isolated microorganisms by growing them on some agricultural and industrial waste using biotechnological technique. These organisms were grown on these wastes using solid state fermentation technology, which is characterized as an economical and easy-to-apply method, which helps reduce production costs.
